FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS !!

A portfolio career combines your primary medical role with additional pursuits, often called side ventures, such as consultative services, entrepreneurial endeavors, or creative projects.

If you are seeking more meaningful professional growth, enhanced well-being, and new creative or financial opportunities, this conference is for you. If you are ready to expand your horizons beyond the usual clinical, research, or other career paths in medicine, a portfolio career opens new options: build a side business, consult or advise, apply your medical expertise in innovative ways, or explore entrepreneurial ventures — all while maintaining your core role in medicine. This approach gives you the flexibility to shape your future, pursue goals, and elevate your professional reputation, without giving up your career in medicine or the life you have built.

This conference equips you to build the skills and competencies needed to excel in a portfolio career. You will learn from experts how to evaluate and shape your opportunities — from idea to implementation. You’ll hone core competencies to lead confidently, communicate and negotiate effectively, establish a strong business and financial foundation, and forge strategic connections that open doors. Perhaps you have already started your portfolio career with one or more side ventures and want to be more strategic and grow professionally. Whether you are just exploring possibilities, ready to launch your next venture, or aiming to take what you’ve already built to the next level, you will gain the tools, insights, and support to turn your passions and expertise into fulfilling, sustainable career options.

This conference welcomes women in medicine who are just beginning to explore a portfolio career as well as those who have already taken initial steps. If you are new to the idea, you will discover essential skills and explore a wide range of portfolio options. If you have started building your portfolio career, you’ll find valuable insights, practical skills, and new connections to support your continued growth.

No conference can give you everything you will ever need, but this one offers opportunities you are unlikely to find elsewhere. You will have a supportive environment to explore new possibilities, access to content tailored specifically for women in medicine, and dedicated time onsite to connect with experts and fellow participants. Leave with new knowledge, an expanded network, and tangible resources to help you pursue or grow your portfolio career.

While this conference is not a substitute for business advisors or mentors, participants will have opportunities to engage with the instructors, experts, and fellow attendees. Each registered participant will receive a pre-conference toolkit designed to help them make the most of their onsite experience.
